We’re finally in the home stretch towards 2021, but today we’re celebrating all the fantastic things that happened in 2020. From renos to milestones, to new products and new services, and even a new baby, there was a lot of excitement this year. And, we’ll give you a sneak peek at what we’re planning for 2021!
We celebrated our 10-year anniversary
In February, just before the craziness of 2020 really took hold, we celebrated our 10 year business anniversary! We’re so proud of how far we’ve come and grateful for everyone who helped us get here. What started as just the two of us in one tiny shop, has since grown to over 30 employees and four locations around Vancouver.
We know that not all businesses survive in the highly competitive Vancouver market, so we’re truly blessed that our hard work has enabled us to help so many Vancouverites for so long. But, as the saying goes: “the best is yet to come!”
Our new services in 2020
This year we’ve added 3 new services to the Bombay Brow menu:

Marma massage: These ayurvedic facial massages help to clear inflammation, swelling, and blockages, so you can feel more energized, refreshed, and youthful-looking.

Lash Lift: We recently debuted this service and already it’s become wildly popular. A lash lift is when we individually boost and lift each eyelash then tint them so they appear fuller and darker. It makes a dramatic difference in the look of your lashes
- Brow Lamination: This is a service we’re launching really soon. We set and shape your brows and apply a special setting lotion so they stay lifted for about 6 weeks. It makes brow maintenance easy!
Our Ayurveda workshops
With COVID-19 restrictions we had to change how we do business, and how we do in-person events. Earlier this year we were able to safely put on an in-person workshop at our Waterfront location. Fourteen participants got the pleasure of learning from Dr. Alexina Mahta as she guided us through ayurvedic practices for aligning our body, spirit, and mind...and a yoga class!
There’s nothing quite like in-person events and we hope that 2021 will allow us to do more of them. We’ll be ready when we’re given the go-ahead from our public health officers!
Unexpected closures (and a reno)
Like much of the city, we temporarily closed all our locations for over 2 months between Mid March and the end of May. It was a sad time for our staff and for us, but it gave us the chance to spend more time with our families and do some business planning for the rest of the year.
Since that time we’ve been closely watching the BC Public Health briefings and ensuring that we’re working hard to comply with all COVID-19 health and safety guidelines.
In May, we also began construction on our Port Royal location so we could create a bigger space for you! We reopened the location in mid-June and had a fully booked appointment calendar within a week!
World events we supported
While we went through the challenges of business during the global pandemic, many other world events reminded us of inclusivity and the need for global love and acceptance of all. We’ve supported Black Lives Matter campaigns and farming communities in India this year. As part of our mission to elevate the world with love, these were issues we couldn’t ignore in 2020.

Supporting causes near to our heart isn't new to us. We’ve been long time supporters of the I AM A Girl foundation (5% of all online purchases go to this worthy cause that promotes education, equal rights, and child rights). We are also monthly donors with our donation being matched 4x to support education and empowerment initiatives.
We added a special, tiny team member
In August we added a new member to the Bombay Brow family. Ravy and the Mehroke family welcomed their third baby to the world! Welcome baby Iyla! Once she’s got a little more control of her arms (and sleeps a little longer at night) we’ll be teaching her how to shape perfectly beautiful brows and give marma massages to her momma. We think Ravy deserves it ;)
The future of Bombay Brow
Everything we do at Bombay, whether it’s our brow bar services, ayurvedic-inspired beauty products, or our events and community outreach, it's done to elevate love in you and our community. We believe the power of love can transcend any “boundaries” and we show it in everything that we do.
It was challenging to keep our doors open for our lovely clients this year, but we worked hard to make it happen and make you feel comfortable and safe in our brow bars.
You can help us by continuing to use our online booking site to book your appointments, buy gift cards for yourself or others, and shop local as much as possible this year. As a local business, we couldn’t survive without those who believe in supporting local entrepreneurs and businesses like us. Please support not only our business, but others in your community because they need your help to survive right now.
